Parking prohibited area

Parkeringsforbudszone skilt

Parking is not permitted anywhere within this area except in designated parking spaces. An area may consist of a contiguous space, such as an open area, square, or similar. The parking prohibition applies from the point at which you pass a zone sign at the entrance until you pass a zone sign indicating the end of the prohibition at the exit. Please note that supplementary signs may apply.

Play and residential area

Opholds- og legeområde skilt

In this area, parking is completely prohibited for cars except in specifically marked spaces. This prohibition does not apply to bicycles, mopeds, or motorcycles.

Parking disc

A parking disc must be used in areas where parking is time-limited and indicated by signage, and where no ticket machine is available. Only one parking disc may be used, and it must be clearly displayed in the windshield. The parking disc must have a pointer, which must be set to the time at which parking begins. Further information can be found in the parking disc regulations.

Parking ticket

If you park in an area with ticket machines, you must display the ticket so that it is clearly visible through the windshield. Please be aware that the ticket may easily be displaced when closing the door or if a window is left slightly open.

Junctions and the 10-Metre Rule

According to the Road Traffic Act, stopping or parking is not permitted at junctions within 10 metres of the nearest corner of a crossing lane or bicycle path. The 10-metre rule applies to all junctions.

The purpose of the 10-metre rule is to improve visibility for all road users, allowing drivers to see pedestrians, cyclists, and moped riders more clearly.

If the corner is rounded, the nearest corner is considered the point where the roads meet at the sharpest angle. As a general guideline, you can estimate the distance by counting tiles. Each tile is 80 centimetres long, so there should be approximately 12.5 tiles between your car and the junction.

Pavement

You may not stop or park on a bicycle path, footpath, or pavement. The same applies to median strips, traffic islands, and similar areas. A vehicle may stop or park with part of the vehicle on the pavement only outside densely built-up areas, and only if the maximum permissible laden weight does not exceed 3,500 kg.
